THE CATCH
The engagement in A-ELE2 appears to have been a brief interception rather than a prolonged fight. With only two participants recorded, the action suggests a clean catch by unaligned attackers against a lone Brotherhood of Spacers vessel. The victim, WTF ForeignFrien of The Ninth Person, was flying a Nergal — a dangerous ship to lose, and an expensive one to leave exposed.
THE KILL
The final blow came from an unknown attacker in a Burner Daredevil, a ship built for speed and close-range pressure. That is an unsettling way to lose a Nergal: pinned down by a frigate-class hunter while its heavier firepower never got a chance to matter. The damage was enough to finish the ship outright, with the attacker taking credit for the destruction after dealing the full weight of the engagement.
THE LOSSES
The destruction totaled 1.1 billion ISK, with 754.4 million ISK lost and 389.8 million ISK recovered. The Nergal’s fittings also tell the story of a ship built to fight hard and close: Mystic S was destroyed, while quantities of Tetryon Exotic Plasma S, Occult S, Baryon Exotic Plasma S, and Meson Exotic Plasma S were either dropped or lost in the wreck. Even when part of the fit survives, a loss like this is still a painful one.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Brotherhood of Spacers, the cost is not just financial but operational. A Nergal is not casual traffic, and a solitary destroyer-class hunter managing to remove one in A-ELE2 suggests either an opening was seized quickly or escape was denied completely. In New Eden, that kind of short, sharp loss can be as telling as a fleet battle: one pilot made a mistake, one hunter made it count, and the ship is gone.
