The destruction of AlfaMikeF0x’s Naglfar Fleet Issue appears to have been the centrepiece of a brief but punishing engagement in the wormhole system of J120437. Wandering Dreams accounted for the kill, with Sergey Solovyev in an Abaddon credited with the final blow. On paper it was a single-ship loss; in practice it was the kind of event that turns a quiet moment into a very bad day for the pilot on the wrong side of the firing line.
HEAVY GUNS CLOSE IN
The attackers brought at least eight pilots to bear on the target, while the broader engagement drew 10 participants. The named attackers included Abaddons and Leshaks, the sort of ships that suggest a fleet built to grind down something valuable rather than simply scare it off. A Sleepless Sentinel also appears among the attackers, hinting that the fight was messy enough to draw in additional pressure beyond the main group.
THE BREAK
The Naglfar Fleet Issue did not leave intact. Most of the ship’s value was destroyed rather than recovered, with 5.4 billion ISK lost outright and 734.2 million ISK dropped. Its racks of XL ammunition were torn apart or scattered in the wreckage, and the presence of Strontium Clathrates suggests the pilot may have been trying to buy time or prepare for a harder stand. None of it was enough to keep the capital-class hull from being overwhelmed.
THE COST
For State War Academy, the loss of a Naglfar Fleet Issue is the sort of event that is hard to shrug off, even in the unforgiving arithmetic of New Eden. For Wandering Dreams, it is a clear demonstration that the right targets can still be boxed in and broken when enough firepower lands at the right moment. In J120437, the fight was short, but the price was high enough to make the wreck itself the story.
