THE CATCH
The fight in EIDI-N appears to have centered on a single capital that had become a prize worth hunting. The Naglfar, flown by rice flour 001 of Fraternity.’s STARCHASER Inc, was caught in a 31-participant engagement that quickly escalated into a costly ambush rather than a routine skirmish. With The Initiative. on the field and additional attackers contributing damage from several angles, the dreadnought never seems to have found clean room to escape.
THE HAMMERFALL
The damage record suggests a hard, sustained collapse rather than a single sudden strike. Alongside The Initiative.’s FireAnt 2020, other attackers in Redeemers, Widows, and even unaligned fire piled on until the Naglfar was overwhelmed. The final blow came from FireAnt 2020’s Redeemer, but the ship was already under heavy pressure, with more than 61,000 damage attributed to an unknown attacker and substantial contributions from multiple covert-capable hulls. This was the kind of hunt that turns one capital ship into a shared kill.
THE LOSSES
The Naglfar was destroyed for 3.9 billion ISK, with another 530.3 million ISK in fittings and cargo dropping into space. That leaves the loss at 4.5 billion ISK all told, a serious blow even before the inconvenience of watching ammunition and fuel vanish with the wreck. Among the wreckage were thousands of hydrogen isotopes and large stacks of XL ammunition, suggesting the ship had been prepared for more than a brief trip through hostile territory.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Fraternity., the destruction of a capital hull is more than a line item. It is a public reminder that even a dreadnought can be isolated and broken when hostile hunters get the timing right. For The Initiative. and its allies, the kill reads as a successful interception: patient, coordinated, and expensive for the target. In EVE, that is often the real story — not just that a capital died, but that someone managed to make it die where it could not be saved.
