The loss was punctuated by the destruction of a full set of mid-grade Nomad implants, turning what might have been a narrow survival into a far more expensive failure.

THE CATCH

The engagement in TR07-S was a small one on paper — just seven participants and two losses — but the value concentrated in the final blow made it anything but routine. Skuffed Out. and its pilots found Vault Nine's capsule exposed long enough for the hunters to finish the job, with Reiz Thara flying a Tholos and credited with the final blow.

THE ESCAPE THAT FAILED

The capsule belonged to Humpback Whale Logistic, while the wider fight also tied back to Invidia Gloriae Comes. Once the trap closed, there was little room for recovery. The destruction of the pod erased a set of mid-grade Nomad implants, including Delta, Alpha, Epsilon, Gamma, and Beta, stripping away the chance that Vault Nine might have slipped out with expensive mobility intact.

THE PRICE OF MISJUDGMENT

The combined losses in the encounter reached 3.8 billion ISK, with the capsule alone accounting for 2.3 billion. In a system where even a brief lapse can become costly, that kind of destruction suggests the victim's window to escape vanished quickly. For Skuffed Out., two attackers were enough to turn a fleeting opening into a very expensive kill.

WHY IT MATTERS

This was not a sprawling fleet battle, but it did not need to be. TR07-S saw a concise, deliberate interception that punished exposure and rewarded persistence. For the victim, the loss of both ship and pod assets is a sharp setback; for the hunters, it is the sort of clean, high-value prize that makes a small engagement feel much larger than its scale.
