For A P E X, the drill’s destruction means more than a simple hull loss: the fight also saw industrial supplies and fuel-related materials either burned away or hauled off in the wreckage.
THE PRESSURE BUILDS
The attackers came in under the banner of Can i bring my Drake..., with Q-Zar and other allies contributing to the effort. The damage profile points to a coordinated strike that mixed heavy firepower with stealthy pressure, including Purifiers and a Naglfar alongside subcapital support. 1Laplass1’s Naglfar accounted for the largest share of the work, while a trio of Purifiers kept the target under constant strain as the attackers ground down the structure’s defenses.
THE BREAK
When the structure finally failed, the finishing touch came from Shashue in a Hurricane, claiming the final blow after the target had already been reduced to a shell. That the last strike came from a cruiser-sized hull rather than one of the larger damage dealers underlines how close-in these destructions can become once a target is pinned and its resistance collapses. The event appears to have been less a rapid smash-and-grab than a measured dismantling, with the attackers steadily converting pressure into a kill.
THE LOSSES
The wreckage left behind tells its own story. Of the 1.2 billion ISK total, 708.4 million ISK was destroyed and 448.5 million ISK dropped, including large quantities of Magmatic Gas that survived the blast, while Atmospheric Gases, Chromium, Evaporite Deposits, and Hydrogen Fuel Blocks were lost outright.
