A Metenox Moon Drill worth 1.3 billion ISK was caught and destroyed in Doril, with ScotFire credited for the kill after a 23-pilot engagement that left the industrial structure burning and much of its stored material lost with it.

THE CATCH

The loss came in a brief but costly encounter in Doril, where ScotFire secured the destruction of an Out of the Blue. Metenox Moon Drill. The structure’s value alone would have made it a tempting target, but the real sting appears to be in what was inside it: fuel, gas, minerals, and other stockpiled material that turned the destruction into more than a simple structure kill.

THE FINAL BLOW

Gardnah, flying an Oracle for ScotFire, delivered the final blow after a concentrated assault that saw multiple Oracle-class attackers piling on the target. The damage numbers suggest a disciplined, focused burst of fire rather than a prolonged siege, with the structure overwhelmed before any meaningful recovery could take hold.

THE LOSSES

The drill did not go down cleanly. Of the reported 1.3 billion ISK total value, 894 million ISK was destroyed and 401.5 million ISK reportedly dropped, while notable stock such as Magmatic Gas, Cadmium, Hydrocarbons, Hydrogen Fuel Block, and Silicates was split between destruction and salvage. For Out of the Blue., and its Anti-Bloc Holdings pilot, the result was the loss of a deployed asset and the contents that made it worth defending.

WHY IT MATTERS

Moon drills are not the sort of loss pilots shrug off easily. Even when the hull itself is only part of the story, the destruction of a resource structure in a live system carries an immediate economic impact and a sharper reminder that industrial assets remain exposed whenever they are left in reach of a hostile gang. In Doril, ScotFire appears to have found exactly that opening.
