The engagement involved only five pilots, yet the value at stake was anything but small. With just 2 million ISK recovered from the wreck, the loss suggests the hauler’s cargo and fittings were the real prize, not the hull itself.
THE BREAKDOWN
The ship’s fittings point to a transport built for speed and survival rather than a straightforward trade run. Inertial Stabilizers, a Medium Cargohold Optimization rig, and a Medium Shield Extender all suggest a hauler trying to move quickly while buying itself a little more breathing room. That was not enough once Novus Ordo. got close. Two Maller pilots were involved in the destruction, and Goddess of Destruction landed the final blow after contributing the larger share of damage.
THE LOSSES
Along with the Mammoth itself, the wreck scattered little of value back to its owner. Most of the notable cargo or equipment was destroyed outright, including multiple Leopard entries and key travel and tank modules. The result was a clean and expensive loss for Kosmos Scum Federation, and one that likely stung far more than the hull would suggest on its own.
THE SIGNIFICANCE
Uedama remains one of New Eden’s most dangerous places for anything that looks remotely vulnerable on a gate or in transit. This incident fits the pattern: a small, fast-moving strike, a target that could not hold out long enough to escape, and a haul worth far more than the ship on paper. For Novus Ordo., it was a sharp and efficient interception. For Layla Lights, it was a costly reminder that in Uedama, being quick is not the same as being safe.
