Mackinaw Pulled Apart in a Rapid Wormhole Ambush

A 1.2 billion ISK Mackinaw was caught and destroyed in J135036 as a small gang from Strange Affairs Department turned a mining run into a brief, brutal ambush. The ship belonged to Ameliana Kye of The Intrinsic Ones, and the loss left little doubt that the attackers found their target at exactly the wrong moment.

THE CATCH

The fight in J135036 was over almost as soon as it began. With only five pilots on the field, the encounter points to a tight, local engagement rather than a broad fleet clash, and Strange Affairs Department appears to have found a vulnerable industrial target isolated in wormhole space. The Mackinaw, a ship built for patient work rather than sudden violence, did not get the kind of runway it needed to survive a committed hit.

THE HUNTING PAIR

Two attackers carried the destruction: Alex Di3el in a Hurricane and Shmelka in a Caracal Navy Issue. Together they split the work of breaking the mining barge apart, with Shmelka applying the heavier damage and Alex Di3el landing the final blow. That combination suggests a compact but deliberate hunt, one that mixed speed, pressure, and enough firepower to overwhelm a ship that was likely focused on extraction rather than escape.

THE LOSSES

The value of the wreck makes the result sting. The Mackinaw carried a haul that included compressed Mordunium, Ice Harvester Upgrade II modules, and a set of items that simply failed to make it out: Fullerite-C72, augmented mining drones, and Skimmer TP-300-I gear were destroyed in the collapse. The ship itself accounted for 369.7 million ISK in destroyed value, while 875.1 million ISK in fittings and cargo were recovered or lost from the wreckage, underlining just how much was riding inside the hull.

THE CONSEQUENCE

For The Intrinsic Ones, the loss of Ameliana Kye's Mackinaw is the kind of hit that is measured in more than ore and modules. In wormhole space, a mining ship caught under pressure can turn quickly from asset to liability, and this one appears to have been trapped before it could pull free. Strange Affairs Department came away with a clean, expensive prize, and the kill marks a reminder that even a routine industrial operation can end in seconds when hunters are waiting in the dark.

Scan Stakan Killed 55 Ships and Lost 186 in the Same Fight

E-WMT7 produced 376 killmails, somewhere around 134 billion ISK of wreckage, and one battleship worth more than a force auxiliary, a Nestor and a Typhoon Fleet Issue put together. The number that stings harder is 186. That is how many ships Scan Stakan lost in the same engagement in which they killed 55 - top of the kill list and top of the loss list, in a single three-and-a-half-hour afternoon.

x Never Regret x Takes 40 Kills as Raa Burns 26 Capitals

At 17:28 UTC, a Retriever died in Raa. Retrievers die constantly, and in Devoid that is more or less the job description. This one is only worth mentioning because of what followed it: for the next hundred minutes, a system on the edge of Amarr space turned into a scrapyard, and by the time the last shot landed at 19:10, 87 ships had been destroyed and the bill had reached 157.4 billion ISK. Almost half of that was one Revelation.

Rattini Tribe and Prime Directive. Split Dal's 192 Billion ISK Bill

An Amarr Shuttle belonging to G0lden Fleet. died in Dal at 16:15 UTC. That is not normally the opening line of a 192 billion ISK story, but Dal spent the next three hours and forty-one minutes making sure nobody forgot it. By the time the last capsule in the system - belonging to x Never Regret x - came apart at 19:56, 557 pilots had produced 516 confirmed losses, fourteen capital ships had been wrecked, and the Heimatar system had eaten just over 192 billion ISK. That is not a skirmish somebody stumbled into. That is a decision, made over and over, for the better part of four hours.

Brave Newbies Topped Both Sides of the HY-RWO Ledger

The first ship to die in HY-RWO was a Rokh worth 44.7 billion ISK, and it set the tone for everything that came after. Over the following hour, 1,883 pilots fought in the Catch system, 243 ships were destroyed, and around 205 billion ISK was removed from the economy one killmail at a time. Not a single capital ship died. In a fight of that size, the most expensive losses were ordinary battleships, fitted in a way that makes the word 'ordinary' sound absurd.
