THE CATCH
The loss centred on Kellen Shimaya’s Machariel, a battleship that drew attention for all the wrong reasons once it was brought to battle in Q2-N6W. The ship was destroyed in a small engagement involving OnlyFleets. and OnlyAlts., with the final blow credited to Jaiimez C flying another Machariel. For a ship of that value, there was little room for error once the hunters had it pinned down.
THE COSTLY BREAKDOWN
The destruction of the hull accounted for 2 billion ISK of the total loss, while 736.3 million ISK in fittings and cargo reportedly dropped into space. Among the items lost or recovered were Imperial Navy Large EMP Smartbombs, a Republic Fleet Large Cap Battery, a Large Micro Jump Drive, and a Large Capacitor Control Circuit I. The presence of heavy close-range fittings suggests the ship was built to survive long enough to matter, but that plan appears to have failed before escape became possible.
WHO LANDED THE DAMAGE
The damage record points to a compact and messy fight rather than a prolonged chase. Jaiimez C delivered the final blow for OnlyFleets., while an unidentified Blood Dreadnought also appears to have been involved on the attacking side. The report also lists Odako Taron of OnlyAlts. among the contributors, which may indicate that the wider encounter was more tangled than a simple one-way ambush. Even so, the Machariel was the ship that paid the price in the end.
WHY IT MATTERS
At 2.8 billion ISK, this was not a routine battlefield loss. In a small clash like this, a single battleship can represent a major commitment, and the destruction of a Machariel can quickly turn a local engagement into an expensive reminder of how fast a hunt can close. Q2-N6W saw the kind of sharp, concentrated violence that EVE pilots know well: brief, sudden, and ruinously effective.
