By the time the dust settled, the cruiser-sized danger had become a full-on pile-on: 57 participants were tied to the engagement, with 41 attackers credited around the final loss. The result was a 1.4 billion ISK destruction that left little doubt the target had been found in a bad moment.
THE PRESSURE BUILDING
The attackers were not a lone hunting group. Blank-Space delivered the final blow, but the heavier damage appears to have come from Snuffed Out ships already working the target down. Punch Bunny in a Sarathiel and urns in a Valravn each contributed substantial damage, while robin j in another Machariel and B0ZziLLa’s Nestor added to the pressure. The mix suggests a coordinated force capable of keeping the battleship pinned long enough for the closing shot to land.
THE BREAK
When the Machariel finally went down, it shed a cargo fit for a ship expecting to keep fighting: thousands of Republic Fleet Fusion L rounds came off the wreck, along with Barrage L, while Republic Fleet EMP L and a stock of Hail L were lost with the hull. Nanite Repair Paste was destroyed as well, a small but telling sign that the pilot may have been preparing to stay in the fight rather than simply run from it. That escape never came.
THE COST
With 1.2 billion ISK destroyed and only 210.2 million ISK recovered, the loss was severe even by battleship standards. For Can i bring my Drake..., it is a clean reminder that expensive hulls do not need a fleet wipe to leave a mark; one caught Machariel can be enough to sting. In a region where speed and overlap often decide who gets out and who gets found, Pavanakka belonged to the hunters on this occasion.
