Legion Crushed in Fast Hunt Over O-0HW8

A 1.3 billion ISK Legion was caught and destroyed in O-0HW8 as a small group of attackers closed quickly on the Rote Kapelle pilot Kanye North. The loss, which left only a fraction of the ship’s value behind, appears to have come down to a sharp interception rather than a drawn-out fight.

THE CATCH

The engagement in O-0HW8 was brief, but it was decisive. One Legion belonging to Rote Kapelle was overwhelmed by a compact attacking force tied to The Initiative., with the final blow landing from Frank Dave’s Ishtar. The ship was destroyed almost as soon as the encounter began, suggesting there was little room for the pilot to turn the situation around once contact was made.

THE DAMAGE

The loss totaled 1.3 billion ISK, with about 1.2 billion ISK destroyed and just 186.1 million ISK recovered as loot. For a cruiser built to project serious damage and survive punishment, that is a harsh end. The Legion was carrying a heavy missile loadout, and much of that ammunition vanished with the ship, adding to the sense that this was a vessel prepared for action rather than a stripped-down target.

THE HUNTERS

The damage was spread across three Ishtars from The Initiative. — Frank Dave, Mad Buny, and WD0810353 — while an additional attacker listed as unaligned also contributed. Frank Dave secured the final blow, but the numbers suggest the Legion was already under sustained pressure before that last strike landed. In a fight this short, positioning mattered more than endurance, and the attackers appear to have had the target pinned before the Legion could escape.

THE CONSEQUENCE

For Rote Kapelle, the loss of a Legion is painful not just because of its price tag, but because of how abruptly it disappeared. For The Initiative., it was a clean result from a small hunt: a valuable target removed, a high-end cruiser broken apart, and a reminder that even well-equipped ships can vanish quickly when they are caught alone in hostile space.

Big Vantus Paid 15 Ships Toward Pochven's 72 Billion ISK Tab

Of the 47 ships destroyed in Ignebaener, 46 were, in ISK terms, background noise. The 47th was a Paladin valued at just under 57.5 billion ISK - close to four-fifths of everything the system destroyed in one sitting. One hull, one pilot, one very bad moment, and the number that will define this fight long after the killboards stop updating.

Brave Newbies Lost 21 Ships in 4-07MU and Shot Back With Interest

Somewhere around 19:25 UTC, a Caracal Navy Issue died in 4-07MU and 912 pilots decided that was a reasonable invitation. Two hours later the system had produced 200 wrecks, 67.2 billion ISK of damage, and not one capital ship - just battleship after battleship feeding itself into a fight that refused to end. The killboards call it a gank. The killboards are only half right.

Solyaris Chtonium Killed Redux.'s Avatar as 1,166 Pilots Watched

The last thing an Avatar expects to be doing is dying in lowsec, but Amamake has been ruining plans for a very long time. Redux.'s Amarr Titan - one of the largest and most expensive warships in New Eden - came apart in the Heimatar system with roughly 1,166 pilots involved in the kill, and a price tag of 142.7 billion ISK attached to a single loss.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Fifty-two point nine billion ISK, gone. One killmail. Eight hundred and forty-seven pilots on the record. Amamake has swallowed fleets, capitals, and more than a few alliances' sense of direction over the years. It has rarely swallowed 52.9 billion ISK in a single ship that was not even a capital. The victim was the Sarathiel, flying under the banner of Warlock Industries Alliance. The credited killer was Minmatar Fleet Associates. And every one of those 847 names belongs to the same kill.
