Absolute Honor’s Darkya lost a Kronos, one of New Eden’s most dangerous marauders, to what appears to have been a small but effective hunt by PIROCOR. The scale was limited — only four participants are recorded — yet the value at stake made the encounter anything but routine.
THE BREAK
The decisive pressure came from two attackers. Sniper Isu, flying a Cenotaph, did the heavy lifting and ultimately secured the kill, while an unidentified attacker added missile damage to help finish the job. Against them, the Kronos could not hold the field. The fight suggests the target was isolated long enough for the attackers to work through its defenses before resistance could turn the situation around.
THE LOSSES
The destruction of the Kronos accounts for the full 1 billion ISK loss in the engagement. The wreck left only 27.9 million ISK in recoverable loot, while fittings and drones were largely consumed in the blast. Among the destroyed items were Void L ammunition, Hornet EC-300 drones, and Acolyte II light drones, small details that underline how quickly the ship was overwhelmed once the trap closed.
THE CONSEQUENCE
For Absolute Honor, the loss of a marauder is a sharp and expensive setback, even in a fight this small. For PIROCOR, it is the sort of successful interception that pays for the effort by virtue of the target alone. In a cluster where a single well-placed catch can outweigh an entire evening of roaming, this one appears to have been exactly the kind of opportunistic strike hunters live for.
