Kronos Destroyed in 3 Billion ISK Blow at Amamake

A Sedition. Kronos exploded in Amamake after being caught in a 45-pilot engagement that turned a heavyweight marauder into a very expensive wreck. The loss, worth 3 billion ISK, ended with hobbes961 of The James Gang landing the final blow in an Augoror Navy Issue.

THE CATCH

The fight came together fast in Amamake, where a small number of ships were enough to pin down one of New Eden’s most expensive subcapital hulls. Gazzz of Sedition., flying the Kronos for Jerkasaurus Wrecks Inc., became the center of the clash as The James Gang and other involved pilots pressed the attack. With 45 participants on the field, the engagement had already grown large enough to make escape difficult before the marauder was finally broken.

THE BREAKDOWN

The attackers did not need a single overwhelming hammer blow to end it. Damage came in from a mix of hulls, including Stabber Fleet Issues, an Apocalypse, a Scythe Fleet Issue, and an Exequror Navy Issue, before hobbes961 secured the kill in an Augoror Navy Issue. The spread of damage suggests a coordinated grind rather than a quick strike, with the Kronos forced to absorb sustained fire while its attackers closed in.

THE LOSSES

The value of the loss made the outcome sting. Around 1.8 billion ISK was destroyed with another 1.2 billion ISK recovered, and the wrecked Kronos left behind stacks of ammunition and repair materials that show it had been ready for a prolonged fight. Void L, Null L, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L, and Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L were all burned away in the destruction, while Nanite Repair Paste was among the items that survived the explosion.

WHY IT MATTERS

A Kronos is never just another ship on the field, and losing one in Amamake is the kind of event that gets attention across the region. Even without a larger campaign context, the destruction of a 3 billion ISK marauder in a busy lowsec system is a clear reminder of how quickly an expensive ship can become exposed when the fight turns against it.

Big Vantus Paid 15 Ships Toward Pochven's 72 Billion ISK Tab

Of the 47 ships destroyed in Ignebaener, 46 were, in ISK terms, background noise. The 47th was a Paladin valued at just under 57.5 billion ISK - close to four-fifths of everything the system destroyed in one sitting. One hull, one pilot, one very bad moment, and the number that will define this fight long after the killboards stop updating.

Brave Newbies Lost 21 Ships in 4-07MU and Shot Back With Interest

Somewhere around 19:25 UTC, a Caracal Navy Issue died in 4-07MU and 912 pilots decided that was a reasonable invitation. Two hours later the system had produced 200 wrecks, 67.2 billion ISK of damage, and not one capital ship - just battleship after battleship feeding itself into a fight that refused to end. The killboards call it a gank. The killboards are only half right.

Solyaris Chtonium Killed Redux.'s Avatar as 1,166 Pilots Watched

The last thing an Avatar expects to be doing is dying in lowsec, but Amamake has been ruining plans for a very long time. Redux.'s Amarr Titan - one of the largest and most expensive warships in New Eden - came apart in the Heimatar system with roughly 1,166 pilots involved in the kill, and a price tag of 142.7 billion ISK attached to a single loss.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Fifty-two point nine billion ISK, gone. One killmail. Eight hundred and forty-seven pilots on the record. Amamake has swallowed fleets, capitals, and more than a few alliances' sense of direction over the years. It has rarely swallowed 52.9 billion ISK in a single ship that was not even a capital. The victim was the Sarathiel, flying under the banner of Warlock Industries Alliance. The credited killer was Minmatar Fleet Associates. And every one of those 847 names belongs to the same kill.
