Mass. and The Edge of Heretics caught the battleship in a nine-ship engagement that ended with the Marauder breaking under concentrated fire. The loss left only a fraction of the ship’s value on the field, while the wreckage suggests a fight that turned quickly once the target was isolated.

THE CATCH

The engagement in J001820 was brief but expensive. What began as a small fight with nine participants ended with Mgla.’s Kronos, flown by Naguas, destroyed in place. Against a determined attacking group from Critical. Mass., the Marauder became the clear centre of attention and, once pinned down, had little room to recover.

THE PRESSURE BUILDS

Five attackers are listed on the final strike, all from Critical. Mass., with The Edge of Heretics named alongside the alliance in the report. The damage came from a hard-hitting lineup: three Vargurs led the assault, backed by a Golem and a Dramiel. That composition suggests a fast, punishing catch rather than a prolonged exchange, with the Kronos taking the full weight of the attackers’ focus.

THE BREAK

KINDA AGOR, flying a Vargur, landed the final blow after dealing the most damage. Mia River and Filin urmamovich, also in Vargurs, helped grind the battleship down, while Zekanator’s Golem and Maxim Yassko’s Dramiel added to the pressure. The Kronos carried a heavy rack of ammunition and repair supplies, but the destruction of its core value shows how thoroughly it was overwhelmed once the trap closed.

THE LOSSES

The ship accounted for 2.4 billion ISK of the total 2.7 billion ISK destruction, leaving only 329 million ISK in dropped value. Among the wreckage were thousands of rounds of Void L and Null L, while Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L and Nanite Repair Paste were largely lost with the hull. For Mgla., the result was a costly reminder that a Marauder caught at the wrong moment can become a very expensive prize.
