Ishtar Falls to Vigilant Tyrannos in AD034 Ambush

A 1.8 billion ISK Ishtar was caught and destroyed in AD034 as Vigilant Tyrannos put three ships on the target and broke it before it could get clear. The loss, belonging to Goonswarm Federation pilot apink-gungnior, turned into a sharp and expensive reminder that even a familiar heavy assault cruiser can become a prize when it strays into the wrong pocket of space.

THE CATCH

The engagement in AD034 was brief, but it was enough to end with one expensive cruiser in flames. Against a total of five participants, Vigilant Tyrannos brought the weight needed to pin down an Ishtar flown by apink-gungnior of Peoples Liberation Army, under the Goonswarm Federation banner. The ship’s 1.8 billion ISK value made it the clear centrepiece of the fight from the moment it was found.

THE PRESSURE CLOSES

The attackers appear to have worked the target down quickly, with Karybdis Tyrannos in a Drifter Assault Battleship and Scylla Tyrannos in a Drifter Nullcharge Cruiser doing the bulk of the damage. The Ishtar took heavy punishment before the final blow landed from an Ephialtes Lancer flown by an unknown attacker, ending any chance of escape. The composition suggests a compact hunt rather than a drawn-out exchange, with Vigilant Tyrannos committing enough force to make the outcome inevitable once contact was made.

THE LOSSES

The Ishtar did not go quietly. Along with the hull itself, 1.5 billion ISK in assets was destroyed and another 299.1 million ISK worth of items was recovered from the wreck. Among the wreckage were Nanite Repair Paste, Agency 'Hardshell' TB3 Dose I, Republic Fleet Valkyrie, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S, and Heavy Mutated Drone, hinting at a ship fitted to survive pressure and keep fighting. Instead, the fit was stripped apart in moments.

WHY IT MATTERS

For Goonswarm Federation, the loss is less about numbers than about timing and exposure: a lone Ishtar is never just a lone Ishtar when it is found by a hostile group ready to spring the trap. For Vigilant Tyrannos, it was a clean and costly-looking catch, the sort of kill that announces a presence even in a brief encounter. In a system like AD034, those are the losses that linger far longer than the fight itself.

Scan Stakan Killed 55 Ships and Lost 186 in the Same Fight

E-WMT7 produced 376 killmails, somewhere around 134 billion ISK of wreckage, and one battleship worth more than a force auxiliary, a Nestor and a Typhoon Fleet Issue put together. The number that stings harder is 186. That is how many ships Scan Stakan lost in the same engagement in which they killed 55 - top of the kill list and top of the loss list, in a single three-and-a-half-hour afternoon.

x Never Regret x Takes 40 Kills as Raa Burns 26 Capitals

At 17:28 UTC, a Retriever died in Raa. Retrievers die constantly, and in Devoid that is more or less the job description. This one is only worth mentioning because of what followed it: for the next hundred minutes, a system on the edge of Amarr space turned into a scrapyard, and by the time the last shot landed at 19:10, 87 ships had been destroyed and the bill had reached 157.4 billion ISK. Almost half of that was one Revelation.

Rattini Tribe and Prime Directive. Split Dal's 192 Billion ISK Bill

An Amarr Shuttle belonging to G0lden Fleet. died in Dal at 16:15 UTC. That is not normally the opening line of a 192 billion ISK story, but Dal spent the next three hours and forty-one minutes making sure nobody forgot it. By the time the last capsule in the system - belonging to x Never Regret x - came apart at 19:56, 557 pilots had produced 516 confirmed losses, fourteen capital ships had been wrecked, and the Heimatar system had eaten just over 192 billion ISK. That is not a skirmish somebody stumbled into. That is a decision, made over and over, for the better part of four hours.

Brave Newbies Topped Both Sides of the HY-RWO Ledger

The first ship to die in HY-RWO was a Rokh worth 44.7 billion ISK, and it set the tone for everything that came after. Over the following hour, 1,883 pilots fought in the Catch system, 243 ships were destroyed, and around 205 billion ISK was removed from the economy one killmail at a time. Not a single capital ship died. In a fight of that size, the most expensive losses were ordinary battleships, fitted in a way that makes the word 'ordinary' sound absurd.
