The assault was carried out by Vigilant Tyrannos, with the final blow delivered by Karybdis Tyrannos in a Drifter Command Battleship.

THE CATCH

The engagement in AD086 was short enough to feel almost abrupt: five participants, two losses, and one obvious prize. Fraternity.’s beita9527 found their Ishtar under pressure from Vigilant Tyrannos, with the cruiser’s apparent attempt to hold out ending in destruction and a capsule escape soon after. The fight centered on a single, expensive target, and once it was isolated the rest of the encounter appears to have moved quickly toward collapse.

THE HUNTERS

Vigilant Tyrannos brought a compact but serious hunting force to the field. Karybdis Tyrannos applied the final blow from a Drifter Command Battleship, while another Drifter Command Battleship and a Drifter Nullcharge Cruiser added sustained pressure. The participation of an unaligned Medium-Range Deviant Automata Suppressor suggests the target was not simply stumbled upon and left to chance. This was a kill that carried the shape of deliberate pursuit rather than a passing skirmish.

THE BREAK

The Ishtar did not go down cleanly. Of the 3.1 billion ISK tied up in the ship and its fitting, 1.6 billion ISK was destroyed and 1.5 billion ISK dropped away into the wreck. Its hold included ammunition, repair paste, and Triglavian Survey Database items, hinting at a ship that was at least partly outfitted for extended roaming or utility work. Once the attackers had it pinned, the outcome appears to have become a matter of time rather than rescue.

THE COST

Even in a brief engagement, the loss of an Ishtar is never trivial. Fraternity. lost a well-known heavy assault cruiser, and the attackers secured a prize that was valuable not only in raw ISK but in the momentum such a catch provides. In New Eden, short fights can still carry long echoes, and this one left Vigilant Tyrannos with the cleaner result and Fraternity. with a painful reminder that even a few ships can bring a costly end to a solo cruiser’s run.
