A 2.9 billion ISK Ishtar was caught and destroyed in Imata as a small strike force closed in on the ship and broke it apart before the pilot could slip away. The loss left only a partial salvage from the wreck, while much of the valuable fit went up in fire.

THE CATCH

The fight in Imata was brief, but it was decisive. Theris Seasinger’s Ishtar, flown for Ibuprofen Chapter and Crazy Tactical Ants, was caught in a clash involving 12 pilots and did not leave the field intact. What might have been a routine roaming encounter instead turned into a costly kill, with the assault landing hard enough to strip the cruiser of its protection and overwhelm it before escape became an option.

THE DESTROYERS

The damage came from a tight group of destroyers working the target over in close range. El'Miner Appreciation Society led the attack, and the final blow was delivered by Homemade Chicken Pie1 in a Coercer. Captain544 of L A Z E R H A W K S and several other Coercer pilots added sustained pressure, suggesting the Ishtar was pinned down and battered by concentrated fire rather than left room to recover.

THE PRIZE

When the Ishtar went down, it took expensive hardware and rare cargo with it. About 1.8 billion ISK was destroyed outright, while 1.1 billion ISK was recovered from the wreck. Among the losses were Republic Fleet Fusion S ammunition, Triglavian Survey Database entries, Crystalline Isogen-10, and nanite repair paste — the sort of cargo and fittings that make even a single cruiser loss sting far beyond the hull itself.

THE COST

For Ibuprofen Chapter, the destruction of an Ishtar is the sort of setback that can be felt immediately. For the attackers, it was a clean, compact result: a high-value target caught in Imata and dismantled before it could escape. In New Eden, that kind of hunt matters not because of its scale, but because of the message it sends — even a heavily equipped cruiser can become a prize when the wrong eyes find it at the wrong moment.
