Impel Caught and Crushed in Frulegur Ambush

An Imperial Academy Impel carrying a reported 1.4 billion ISK in value was caught and destroyed in Frulegur, ending a brief but costly encounter in which Snuffed Out and associated pilots closed in on the industrial transport and overwhelmed its defenses.

THE CATCH

The loss centered on Frostjaw Sparta’s Impel, a heavily tanked transport that was still not enough to survive contact with the hunters waiting in Frulegur. The ship’s fittings suggest a vessel prepared to endure punishment, with high-grade armor hardeners among the wreckage and an improved cloaking device among the items that escaped destruction. Even so, once it was exposed, the ambush appears to have left little room for escape.

THE FIREWALL CLOSES

Snuffed Out is listed as the primary attacker, with support from several other pilots who added pressure as the target was pinned down. The final blow came from Cucumber ares flying a Hyperion, a strikingly heavy ship to bring to the destruction of a transport. Other contributors included a Broadsword, a Tempest Fleet Issue, and two Arazu pilots, suggesting a coordinated effort to trap, hold, and finish the Impel before it could break free.

THE COST

The ship’s destruction accounted for 837.9 million ISK in losses, with another 525.8 million ISK in cargo and fittings dropped or destroyed. Among the wreckage were large amounts of Pyerite and faction armor hardeners, underscoring that this was not a routine interception but a costly loss of a well-equipped transport. With only one ship destroyed, the engagement was brief, but the value on the line made it a painful one.

WHY IT MATTERS

For Imperial Academy, the destruction of an Impel in low-intensity traffic turns into a reminder of how vulnerable even durable logistics ships can be when they are isolated at the wrong moment. For the hunters, it was a clean result: a high-value target caught in Frulegur and broken before help or escape could change the outcome. In New Eden, that is often all it takes for a quiet route to become a headline.

Big Vantus Paid 15 Ships Toward Pochven's 72 Billion ISK Tab

Of the 47 ships destroyed in Ignebaener, 46 were, in ISK terms, background noise. The 47th was a Paladin valued at just under 57.5 billion ISK - close to four-fifths of everything the system destroyed in one sitting. One hull, one pilot, one very bad moment, and the number that will define this fight long after the killboards stop updating.

Brave Newbies Lost 21 Ships in 4-07MU and Shot Back With Interest

Somewhere around 19:25 UTC, a Caracal Navy Issue died in 4-07MU and 912 pilots decided that was a reasonable invitation. Two hours later the system had produced 200 wrecks, 67.2 billion ISK of damage, and not one capital ship - just battleship after battleship feeding itself into a fight that refused to end. The killboards call it a gank. The killboards are only half right.

Solyaris Chtonium Killed Redux.'s Avatar as 1,166 Pilots Watched

The last thing an Avatar expects to be doing is dying in lowsec, but Amamake has been ruining plans for a very long time. Redux.'s Amarr Titan - one of the largest and most expensive warships in New Eden - came apart in the Heimatar system with roughly 1,166 pilots involved in the kill, and a price tag of 142.7 billion ISK attached to a single loss.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Fifty-two point nine billion ISK, gone. One killmail. Eight hundred and forty-seven pilots on the record. Amamake has swallowed fleets, capitals, and more than a few alliances' sense of direction over the years. It has rarely swallowed 52.9 billion ISK in a single ship that was not even a capital. The victim was the Sarathiel, flying under the banner of Warlock Industries Alliance. The credited killer was Minmatar Fleet Associates. And every one of those 847 names belongs to the same kill.
