THE CATCH
The loss centered on a single ship, identified only as Ship 24692, flown by an independent operator in alliance 99013706. It was a costly target by any standard, and the damage was concentrated enough to suggest the attacker found an opening and pressed it hard. With only three participants recorded in the incident, this was less a fleet action than a precise interception.
THE BREAK
The final blow came from an attacker in Ship 11125, who did all of the recorded 70,725 damage. That kind of singular responsibility points to a fast, decisive exchange rather than a prolonged brawl. The victim’s ship was not simply disabled; it was stripped apart in a matter of moments, with 854.7 million ISK destroyed and another 302.2 million ISK recovered from the wreckage.
THE LOSSES
The fitting tells part of the story. Imperial Navy 1600mm Steel Plates and a Mega Pulse Laser II were among the items lost outright, while Warrior II drones and other components were recovered or destroyed in the aftermath. Whatever the ship was doing in System 30004125, it was carrying enough value to make the encounter sting well beyond the hull itself.
WHY IT MATTERS
For an independent pilot, the destruction of a 1.2 billion ISK vessel is the sort of setback that can shape an evening or an entire campaign. The engagement was over almost as soon as it began, but its brevity only sharpens the impression: someone was isolated, found, and removed before help or escape could matter. In New Eden, that kind of clean catch is often the most dangerous kind of fight.
