The victim, 3rdoffive of Worthless Carebears, was caught in V6-NY1 and destroyed almost immediately, with the final blow credited to Silfen Raiel in a Thunderchild. What looked like a simple pod kill was in fact a significant loss once the implant set was taken into account.
THE FIRE
Three Thunderchilds from The Initiative. applied the damage, with Oliver P Cromwell and Java Man both contributing before the pod was destroyed. The attack appears to have been decisive rather than prolonged, leaving little room for escape once the capsule was exposed. In a fight that lasted only a moment, the value was concentrated in what the pod was carrying rather than in the ship itself.
THE LOSSES
The destroyed implants included a full cluster of high-grade Snake modules — Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Epsilon — alongside a Zainou 'Gnome' Shield Operation SP-905. Those losses explain the 1.6 billion ISK figure attached to the destruction. For a capsule, it was an unusually expensive end, and one that likely stung more than many larger ship losses.
THE SIGNIFICANCE
The engagement involved only five participants, but it still stands out because of the value trapped inside a single pod. It suggests that even the smallest targets can become high-stakes prizes when expensive implants are in play. In V6-NY1, The Initiative. came away with a quick and costly kill, while 3rdoffive paid a very steep price for being caught at the wrong moment.
