A Golem flying under the State Protectorate banner was destroyed in Funtanainen on Sunday morning, ending a brief encounter that left 3.1B ISK in losses and handed Renminbi Alliance a costly prize. The final blow came from smater van in a Babaroga, turning the Marauder into a wreck before it could escape the engagement.

THE CATCH

The fight was over almost as soon as it began. In Funtanainen, a lone Golem commanded by Admiral Venator was caught and destroyed in a clash involving just four participants. The scale was small, but the value was anything but routine: a ship worth more than three billion ISK went up in smoke in a matter of moments.

THE FINAL BLOW

The destruction was credited to smater van, flying a Babaroga for Renminbi Alliance. With 134,909 damage done, the attacker appears to have had enough control to finish the Marauder cleanly once it was exposed. The fact that only one attacker was involved suggests this was less a fleet brawl than a sharply executed hunt, with the target left without room to recover.

THE LOSSES

The Golem did not go down empty-handed. A substantial amount of cruise missiles was lost or left behind in the wreckage, including thousands of Scourge Fury Cruise Missiles and Caldari Navy ammunition. The ship itself accounted for most of the 3.1B ISK total, but the fitted and carried supplies pushed the loss deeper into expensive territory.

WHAT IT MEANS

For State Protectorate, the loss of a Marauder is a painful reminder that even heavily armed ships can be caught out if they lose control of the fight. For Renminbi Alliance, the result is a clean and decisive win in lowsec, one that shows how quickly a valuable target can be converted into wreckage when opportunity appears and the response is too slow.
