Golem Cut Down in a Sudden 5-LCI7 Ambush

A Dracarys. Golem was destroyed in 5-LCI7 in a brief, sharp ambush that left the 2.6 billion ISK ship wrecked and its cargo and ammunition split between fire and salvage. The attack appears to have been carried out by a single Unaligned attacker flying a Centatis Behemoth, turning what may have been a routine move into a costly loss for the pilot.

THE CATCH

The fight in 5-LCI7 was over almost as soon as it began. A lone Dracarys. Golem, flown by liunianshiguang of Dusk dreadnought., was destroyed in a one-on-one encounter with an unidentified attacker. With only two participants recorded, the exchange suggests a clean catch rather than a protracted fleet action, and the cruiser-sized missile platform never appears to have escaped once contact was made.

THE HUNTING SHIP

The final blow came from an attacker in a Centatis Behemoth, an unusual and imposing ship to see at the centre of a small-scale interception. That choice of hull hints at a deliberate hunt, or at least an opportunistic strike by someone willing to commit a distinctive platform to the engagement. The attacker did enough damage to finish the Golem outright, with 257,503 damage recorded against the target.

THE LOSSES

The destruction was substantial even by the standards of a single-ship loss. Of the 2.6 billion ISK tied up in the encounter, 2.2 billion ISK was destroyed and 385.6 million ISK dropped into the wreck. The Golem’s torpedoes tell part of the story too: Mjolnir Rage Torpedoes were among the items destroyed, while Mjolnir Javelin Torpedoes and additional Rage charges were partly recovered, suggesting the ship was still fitted and ready when it was caught.

WHY IT MATTERS

For Dracarys., the loss of a well-fit Golem is a painful reminder that expensive ships remain vulnerable whenever they are exposed in the wrong place at the wrong time. For the attacker, the result was quick, decisive, and expensive enough to stand out on its own. In a region where a single ambush can erase billions, 5-LCI7 has now added one more stark example of how little warning a high-value ship can get before the hammer falls.
