A Golem worth 3 billion ISK was brought down in Orvolle after a 14-pilot fight turned a routine-looking encounter into a costly loss for AddictClan. The marauder’s destruction, sealed by Syrox Boxter flying another Golem, left a large pile of salvage behind and underlined just how exposed even a heavily armed ship can be when the trap closes at the wrong moment.

THE CATCH

The fight in Orvolle appears to have centred on a single high-value target: Zibi MassMiner Thellere’s Golem, flown for AddictClan’s Empire Of Dawn. Against that ship stood a mixed group of attackers led by Pithatus Syndicate, with 14 participants drawn into the engagement overall. What began as a small-scale clash quickly became a hunt for one ship that was too valuable to ignore.

THE PRESSURE BUILDS

The attacking side brought more than just numbers. HarmlessOne in a Cenotaph, SparrowHawkeye in an Alligator, Jackson Kishunuba in a Barghest, and Gramps Pljugi in a Scorpion all contributed to the attack, suggesting coordinated pressure from multiple angles and ship classes. The final blow came from Syrox Boxter, also flying a Golem, which gives the loss an especially sharp edge: the victim’s own class was used to finish the job.

THE BREAK

The Golem did not simply vanish intact. Of the 3 billion ISK destroyed and dropped, 1.8 billion ISK in assets appears to have been recovered from the wreck, while 1.3 billion ISK was lost outright. The wreckage included large stocks of cruise missiles, hinting at a ship fitted and stocked for serious combat rather than a casual roam. Even so, once the attackers had the target pinned down, the outcome was decisive.

WHY IT MATTERS

A Golem is no throwaway loss, and this one lands hard for AddictClan. In a single engagement, a prized marauder was stripped of its edge and turned into loot for the attackers. For Pithatus Syndicate and its allies, the kill suggests a successful ambush or interception in Orvolle; for the victim, it is a reminder that expensive firepower offers little protection once the fight starts on someone else’s terms.
