Gila Falls in Quick Strike in AD168

A 2.2 billion ISK Gila was destroyed in a brief encounter in AD168, ending a fight that appears to have been decided almost as soon as it began. The cruiser was flown by Denshal IV of Dynamite Collective, part of Drop Dead Cartel, and was taken down by an unaligned attacker in what looks like a sharp, opportunistic catch.

THE CATCH

The fight in AD168 was over in the same instant it started. A single Gila, one of New Eden’s more dangerous and self-assured cruisers, was caught and destroyed by an unidentified opponent flying an Unstable Abyssal Depths ship. With only two participants recorded, this was not a fleet action so much as a precise interception that left little room for escape.

THE TARGET

The ship itself made the loss sting. The Gila carried a total value of 2.2 billion ISK, with 1.8 billion ISK destroyed and 386.6 million ISK recovered from the wreck. Denshal IV’s loadout included tens of thousands of Caldari Navy Nova Light Missiles and a stock of Nanite Repair Paste, suggesting a vessel prepared for extended fighting rather than a routine travel fit. The presence of Triglavian Survey Databases and Zero-Point Condensate also hints at a ship carrying valuable cargo when it was caught.

THE BREAK

The final blow came from an unknown attacker, leaving the exact method of the kill obscured, but the result was clear enough: the Gila did not get away. In a one-versus-one encounter, survival often comes down to a moment of hesitation, exposure, or bad timing, and this appears to have been one of those brutally efficient losses where the trap closed too quickly to matter.

THE LOSSES

For Drop Dead Cartel, the immediate cost is the destruction of a valuable and capable combat cruiser along with the items it carried. Even without a larger battle around it, the loss is the kind that forces attention because of both price and utility. In a region where every expensive ship is a statement, this one ended as wreckage in AD168.

Big Vantus Paid 15 Ships Toward Pochven's 72 Billion ISK Tab

Of the 47 ships destroyed in Ignebaener, 46 were, in ISK terms, background noise. The 47th was a Paladin valued at just under 57.5 billion ISK - close to four-fifths of everything the system destroyed in one sitting. One hull, one pilot, one very bad moment, and the number that will define this fight long after the killboards stop updating.

Brave Newbies Lost 21 Ships in 4-07MU and Shot Back With Interest

Somewhere around 19:25 UTC, a Caracal Navy Issue died in 4-07MU and 912 pilots decided that was a reasonable invitation. Two hours later the system had produced 200 wrecks, 67.2 billion ISK of damage, and not one capital ship - just battleship after battleship feeding itself into a fight that refused to end. The killboards call it a gank. The killboards are only half right.

Solyaris Chtonium Killed Redux.'s Avatar as 1,166 Pilots Watched

The last thing an Avatar expects to be doing is dying in lowsec, but Amamake has been ruining plans for a very long time. Redux.'s Amarr Titan - one of the largest and most expensive warships in New Eden - came apart in the Heimatar system with roughly 1,166 pilots involved in the kill, and a price tag of 142.7 billion ISK attached to a single loss.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Fifty-two point nine billion ISK, gone. One killmail. Eight hundred and forty-seven pilots on the record. Amamake has swallowed fleets, capitals, and more than a few alliances' sense of direction over the years. It has rarely swallowed 52.9 billion ISK in a single ship that was not even a capital. The victim was the Sarathiel, flying under the banner of Warlock Industries Alliance. The credited killer was Minmatar Fleet Associates. And every one of those 847 names belongs to the same kill.
