The fight in AD114 was small in numbers but expensive enough to sting. Seven pilots were involved over a few tense minutes, and the centrepiece was Goldssssss of Goonswarm Federation, flying a Gila valued at 2.4 billion ISK. Against that kind of target, every second mattered. Vigilant Tyrannos and associated ships appear to have found the opening they needed, turning a brief contact into a lethal trap.
THE PRESSURE BUILDS
The Gila did not go quietly. The damage profile suggests a hard-running combat fit, with Caldari Navy Inferno missiles, nanite paste, and a stack of Triglavian Survey Databases all involved in the wreckage that followed. That mix points to a ship prepared for a fight, not a routine travel loss. But preparation was not enough once the attackers had applied force from multiple angles, including support from Svarog Clade and True Power alongside Vigilant Tyrannos.
THE FINAL BLOW
The last shot came from Scylla Tyrannos in a Drifter Nullcharge Cruiser, but the killing blow was only the final note in a much louder assault. Karybdis Tyrannos in a Drifter Assault Battleship also landed heavy damage, while other attackers racked up substantial pressure before the Gila finally buckled. By the end, the cruiser had been reduced to drifting wreckage, and the pilot was left with only a capsule to carry away the loss.
THE COST
The destruction totalled 4 billion ISK, including the Gila and its capsule, with a significant portion of the ship’s value destroyed outright and only part recovered in loot. For Goonswarm Federation, it is the sort of loss that is individually survivable but still painful: a reminder that even a single exposed cruiser can become a prize worth mobilising for. For the hunters, it was a clean, fast result and a demonstration that in AD114, hesitation was fatal.
