Gila Caught and Crushed in AD099 Skirmish

A 1.8 billion ISK Gila was destroyed in AD099 in a brief but costly skirmish, with Veles Clade applying the final pressure and a Tangling Kikimora landing the closing blow. The fight involved only four pilots, but the outcome was severe enough to leave the Caldari cruiser wrecked and much of its cargo scattered or consumed in the destruction.

THE CATCH

The engagement in AD099 was over almost as soon as it began, but the damage was anything but small. Indroues Ekanon of D E L I R I U M, flying through the system in a Gila, became the focus of a Veles Clade attack that quickly turned into a trap too tight to escape. With only four participants tied to the fight, the encounter reads less like a fleet battle and more like a sharp, localised hunt that found a valuable target at exactly the wrong moment.

THE PRESSURE BUILDS

The Gila did not go down cheaply. The ship accounted for 891.5 million ISK in destroyed value and another 915.9 million ISK in items dropped, showing that the hull was carrying a substantial amount of equipment and ammunition when it was cornered. Among the contents were Caldari Navy Scourge Heavy Missiles, Nanite Repair Paste, Triglavian Survey Database entries, and other munitions, suggesting the cruiser was ready for sustained operations rather than a casual sortie.

THE FINAL BLOW

The closing shot came from an unknown pilot in a Tangling Kikimora, with Veles Clade listed as the attacking organisation behind the destruction. A Starving Vedmak from Perun Clade also contributed significant damage, adding to the sense that the Gila was being worn down by focused fire from multiple directions. By the end, the cruiser had nowhere left to turn, and the final blow sealed a loss that was costly both in hull and in the value being carried aboard it.

WHY IT MATTERS

For D E L I R I U M and Lethal Devotion, the loss of a Gila in a small AD099 engagement is the kind of setback that can sting long after the smoke clears. Expensive cruisers are meant to bring power and flexibility to the field, and when one is trapped and destroyed in a local skirmish, the message is clear: even a capable ship can be undone by bad timing and concentrated pressure. In New Eden, that kind of mistake is rarely forgotten.

Scan Stakan Killed 55 Ships and Lost 186 in the Same Fight

E-WMT7 produced 376 killmails, somewhere around 134 billion ISK of wreckage, and one battleship worth more than a force auxiliary, a Nestor and a Typhoon Fleet Issue put together. The number that stings harder is 186. That is how many ships Scan Stakan lost in the same engagement in which they killed 55 - top of the kill list and top of the loss list, in a single three-and-a-half-hour afternoon.

x Never Regret x Takes 40 Kills as Raa Burns 26 Capitals

At 17:28 UTC, a Retriever died in Raa. Retrievers die constantly, and in Devoid that is more or less the job description. This one is only worth mentioning because of what followed it: for the next hundred minutes, a system on the edge of Amarr space turned into a scrapyard, and by the time the last shot landed at 19:10, 87 ships had been destroyed and the bill had reached 157.4 billion ISK. Almost half of that was one Revelation.

Rattini Tribe and Prime Directive. Split Dal's 192 Billion ISK Bill

An Amarr Shuttle belonging to G0lden Fleet. died in Dal at 16:15 UTC. That is not normally the opening line of a 192 billion ISK story, but Dal spent the next three hours and forty-one minutes making sure nobody forgot it. By the time the last capsule in the system - belonging to x Never Regret x - came apart at 19:56, 557 pilots had produced 516 confirmed losses, fourteen capital ships had been wrecked, and the Heimatar system had eaten just over 192 billion ISK. That is not a skirmish somebody stumbled into. That is a decision, made over and over, for the better part of four hours.

Brave Newbies Topped Both Sides of the HY-RWO Ledger

The first ship to die in HY-RWO was a Rokh worth 44.7 billion ISK, and it set the tone for everything that came after. Over the following hour, 1,883 pilots fought in the Catch system, 243 ships were destroyed, and around 205 billion ISK was removed from the economy one killmail at a time. Not a single capital ship died. In a fight of that size, the most expensive losses were ordinary battleships, fitted in a way that makes the word 'ordinary' sound absurd.
