THE CATCH
The fight in Amamake appears to have centered on a single prized target: a Curse flown by brevery Purvanen of Psychokids. The cruiser was an expensive prize even before the shooting started, and the scale of the response suggests it had been identified and pinned down rather than simply stumbled upon. What followed was not a quick execution, but a hunt that drew in 43 participants and turned one ship into the focus of the entire engagement.
THE NET TIGHTENS
Minmatar Fleet Alliance took the field in force, with 28 attackers listed in the final tally and support from allied pilots outside the core group. Damage was spread across several ships before the closing shot landed, including Omen Navy Issues and an Exequror Navy Issue, indicating a concentrated effort to keep pressure on the target while preventing any escape or recovery. By the time MiniSpartan’s Cormorant delivered the final blow, the Curse had already absorbed more than enough punishment to make survival unlikely.
THE BREAK
The wreck left behind a mixture of destroyed and dropped modules that underlines how much was riding on the hull. Among the listed cargo and fittings were nanite repair paste, ECM drones, and Caldari Navy Vespa drones, evidence of a ship fit for trouble and built to fight back. That resistance did little to change the outcome: 1.2 billion ISK was destroyed with another 528 million ISK recovered from the wreck, making the loss substantial even by Amamake standards.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Psychokids., the destruction of a Curse is more than a routine cruiser loss. The ship’s value, its specialist role, and the size of the response around it make this look like the kind of encounter where a moment’s exposure turned costly very quickly. For Minmatar Fleet Alliance, the kill is a clean demonstration of control in one of New Eden’s most dangerous hunting grounds: a high-value target caught, pinned, and finished before reinforcements or escape could alter the outcome.
