The ship belonged to ZeritoVzla Annages of Goonswarm Federation’s Rekium corporation, and once it was pinned down there was no escape. What should have been a bulky, resilient hauler instead became a high-value target in the open.
THE INTERCEPTION
The force that converged on the freighter was larger than a simple solo kill would suggest. The engagement involved 37 participants overall, with Reckless Endangerment listed among the attackers and 20 pilots credited on the final loss. Fast attack craft dominated the scene: Raptor interceptors and a Taranis were among the notable attackers, suggesting the Charon was overwhelmed by speed and coordination rather than brute force alone.
THE BREAK
Sputner Dragoon, flying a Raptor for Reckless Endangerment, secured the final blow, with help from a cluster of similarly armed pilots applying steady damage around the target. The Charon’s fittings tell part of the story as well: Expanded Cargohold II modules were among the wreckage, while more than 2.8 million units of Heavy Water were recovered. In the end, 1.4 billion ISK was destroyed and 328.6 million ISK escaped into space as loot.
THE CONSEQUENCE
For Goonswarm Federation, the loss of a Charon is less about the hull alone than the vulnerability it exposes. Freighters are built to move value, and when one is caught in the wrong moment, the cargo and the ship together can become a prize for the hunters.
