Charon Haul Ends in 1.5B ISK Ambush in Chardalane

A Charon carrying more than 1.5 billion ISK in value was destroyed in Chardalane after a small group caught the industrial freighter and cut off any chance of escape. The loss left almost nothing to salvage, turning a routine movement into an expensive failure for Zanzibar Industry.

THE CATCH

The ship at the centre of the loss was a Charon flown by DaBigTruck of Zanzibar Industry. In a fight involving nine participants, the freighter was overwhelmed by a hunting group led by Ninja Unicorns with Huge Horns, with support also coming from Psychotic Tendencies. The engagement was brief and decisive: once the freighter was caught, the attackers were able to bring enough force to bear to finish the job.

THE BREAK

The final blow went to Kasper Skov flying a Hubris, after contributing the bulk of the damage at 302,531 points. Other attackers added pressure from heavier covert platforms, including a Panther and two Redeemers, suggesting a coordinated strike rather than a casual encounter. The Charon did not survive long enough to turn the fight into an escape attempt.

THE LOSSES

The freighter was destroyed for a total loss of 1.5B ISK, while only 24.9M ISK reportedly dropped. Several industrial and cargo items were lost with it, including Kerr Sequencers and other stored materials, leaving the wreck with little value intact. For a hauler, that kind of margin is punishing: the hull was expensive, and the recovery was tiny.

WHY IT MATTERS

Single-ship losses like this rarely reshape a region, but they do show how vulnerable even a major industrial hull can be once it is isolated. In Chardalane, the attackers appear to have found a clean opportunity and made it count, turning a freighter run into a costly reminder that New Eden’s trade routes are never truly safe.

Big Vantus Paid 15 Ships Toward Pochven's 72 Billion ISK Tab

Of the 47 ships destroyed in Ignebaener, 46 were, in ISK terms, background noise. The 47th was a Paladin valued at just under 57.5 billion ISK - close to four-fifths of everything the system destroyed in one sitting. One hull, one pilot, one very bad moment, and the number that will define this fight long after the killboards stop updating.

Brave Newbies Lost 21 Ships in 4-07MU and Shot Back With Interest

Somewhere around 19:25 UTC, a Caracal Navy Issue died in 4-07MU and 912 pilots decided that was a reasonable invitation. Two hours later the system had produced 200 wrecks, 67.2 billion ISK of damage, and not one capital ship - just battleship after battleship feeding itself into a fight that refused to end. The killboards call it a gank. The killboards are only half right.

Solyaris Chtonium Killed Redux.'s Avatar as 1,166 Pilots Watched

The last thing an Avatar expects to be doing is dying in lowsec, but Amamake has been ruining plans for a very long time. Redux.'s Amarr Titan - one of the largest and most expensive warships in New Eden - came apart in the Heimatar system with roughly 1,166 pilots involved in the kill, and a price tag of 142.7 billion ISK attached to a single loss.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Warlock Industries Alliance Lost 52 Billion ISK. It Wasn't Even a Capital.

Fifty-two point nine billion ISK, gone. One killmail. Eight hundred and forty-seven pilots on the record. Amamake has swallowed fleets, capitals, and more than a few alliances' sense of direction over the years. It has rarely swallowed 52.9 billion ISK in a single ship that was not even a capital. The victim was the Sarathiel, flying under the banner of Warlock Industries Alliance. The credited killer was Minmatar Fleet Associates. And every one of those 847 names belongs to the same kill.
