A Charon hauling through Konora was brought down in a sharp strike that left the industrial giant wrecked and its cargo shattered. The loss, valued at roughly 2 billion ISK, was claimed by attackers from LowSechnaya Sholupen and allies in a brief but expensive ambush that gave the freighter little room to survive.

THE CATCH

The engagement centred on a single Charon piloted by JON WO0 of Goonswarm Federation, flying for Cloaked Goof. The ship was caught in Konora and destroyed in a fight that appears to have been shaped by careful positioning rather than a prolonged exchange. With only one ship lost, the story is not one of a fleet battle, but of a hunt that ended exactly where the hunters wanted it to.

THE HUNTERS CLOSE IN

The attackers came from LowSechnaya Sholupen, with support from pilots tied to several other groups. Six attackers were directly credited against the final destruction, while the wider engagement drew 14 participants overall. The ship to land the final blow was a Panther flown by Wild Valenok, but the damage was spread across a mixed force that included a Widow, a second Panther, a Sin, and an Arazu, suggesting an ambush built to pin down and overwhelm a valuable target.

THE LOSSES

The Charon did not go quietly. The freighter carried a substantial hold, and much of it was either destroyed or lost in the wreckage. Among the cargo was Arkonor II-Grade, along with large quantities of Null L, Void L, Blue Ice IV-Grade, and Ducinium II-Grade. The destruction of that load helps push the incident beyond a simple ship loss: it was a hard hit to both hull and hold, with only about 352.6 million ISK recovered from a total value near 2 billion.

WHY IT MATTERS

Freighters are designed to move value, not survive surprise violence, and this one appears to have been caught at exactly the wrong moment. For Goonswarm Federation, the loss of a Charon in transit is an expensive reminder of how vulnerable logistics can become when hunters get the timing right. For the attackers, it was a clean prize: a high-value industrial target broken in Konora before it could slip away.
