THE CATCH
The fight in Deven was over in an instant, but the result was anything but small. Elmoraiok’s Crane, flying for HOLD MY PROBS, was caught and destroyed in a skirmish that drew eleven participants into the system. For a ship built to move valuable cargo through dangerous space, the loss of a Crane is always a bad sign — and this one carried enough value to make the trap sting.
THE PRESSURE
Black Rabbit. committed seven attackers to the engagement, pressing the target with a mix of Navy Issue cruisers, a Catalyst Navy Issue, and support hulls built for speed and damage. HarmlessOne’s Osprey Navy Issue and Iluvitar Numenor’s Catalyst Navy Issue did much of the work, while Johny Quango’s Exequror Navy Issue secured the final blow. The Crane never had room to breathe once the net tightened around it.
THE LOSS
The wreck left behind a mixed outcome in cargo and fittings: 621.3M ISK dropped and 385.4M ISK destroyed, bringing the total loss to about 1B ISK. Among the scattered remains were 516 Alloyed Tritanium Bars and 407 each of Gel-Matrix Biopaste and Smashed Trigger Units, while large amounts of Scorched Telemetry Processor and Contaminated Lorentz Fluid were destroyed outright. For a single ship to split its value so decisively between salvageable cargo and burned inventory is a reminder of how quickly an exposed hauler can be stripped bare.
WHY IT MATTERS
This was not a fleet battle or a sprawling regional slugfest, but it was still a clean and expensive catch. Black Rabbit. appears to have found the right target at the right moment, and HOLD MY PROBS paid the price in one of New Eden’s most fragile classes of ship: a covert transport that survives only when its timing is perfect. In Deven, that timing failed, and the ambush left a billion-ISK lesson behind.
