With 18 participants tied to the engagement, the hunt was large enough to feel deliberate, but compact enough to keep the Barghest under constant threat.

THE LOSSES

The Barghest accounted for 1.8 billion ISK of the destruction, with only 126.3 million ISK recovered in drops. Much of the ship’s ammunition was either lost or scattered in the wreckage, including hundreds of Fury heavy missiles and cruise missiles, while the remaining cargo was destroyed outright. For a ship of this class, the loss is significant not just for the hull itself, but for everything committed to keeping it armed and dangerous.
