THE CATCH
The fight in U-TJ7Y was brief, but it was not routine. Five participants were involved overall, with Vigilant Tyrannos on one side and Solyaris Chtonium on the other, and the result was a clean loss for the Barghest piloted by clark Sasen of F0RCED ENTRY. When a ship of that class is caught at all, the danger is usually already decided before the final volley lands.
THE BREAK
The attackers appear to have pressed the advantage with enough force to keep the battleship from slipping away. Cassandra Tyrannos, flying a Drifter Cruiser, delivered the final blow after dealing 30,290 damage. Two other hostile elements also contributed: another Drifter Cruiser associated with unaligned attackers and a Guristas torpedo attack, which suggests the Barghest was under pressure from more than one direction as the noose tightened.
THE LOSSES
The ship went down with a heavy load of ammunition, much of it torpedo stock. Among the wreckage were thousands of Scourge Rage Torpedoes and Caldari Navy torpedoes, with 93 million ISK in fittings and cargo escaping destruction. The remaining 1.1 billion ISK in value was lost with the hull, making this a painful and very visible hit for the victim.
THE CONSEQUENCE
For Solyaris Chtonium, the loss of a Barghest is more than an expensive ship destroyed in a quiet system; it is the sort of setback that can linger because of what a battleship like this represents. For Vigilant Tyrannos, the kill shows that even high-value hulls can be cornered and finished quickly when an opening appears. In New Eden, that kind of hunt is often remembered less for its length than for how decisively it ends.
