THE CATCH
The target was vipere scorpion of Goonswarm Federation, flying an Avalanche for Core Industry. when Cameltoe Collective and supporting pilots found the opening. The ship’s destruction suggests a brief but decisive window was enough for attackers to commit hard and overwhelm the vessel before it could get clear. In a region where expensive hulls often move under constant threat, the Avalanche became the kind of prize hunters build their night around.
THE STRIKE
The final blow came from Brutus Duran in a Purifier, but the damage around him tells the fuller story. A Megathron, a Widow, and two Redeemers all contributed heavily, indicating a coordinated effort rather than a lone opportunist’s shot. With 14 attackers credited on the top loss and 24 pilots present overall, the engagement appears to have been large enough for the target to be pinned down and finished under pressure rather than slipped away in the confusion.
THE LOSSES
The Avalanche itself accounted for nearly all of the value in the exchange, with 1.5 billion ISK destroyed and only 81 million ISK recovered. The wreckage also left behind a cargo of auto-targeting heavy missiles from multiple damage types, a reminder that the ship was loaded and active when the trap closed. For Goonswarm Federation, the loss was not simply a hull gone up in smoke; it was an expensive, visible misstep in hostile space.
WHY IT MATTERS
Even without a larger strategic battle attached to it, the destruction of a ship on this scale has its own weight. A single Avalanche is not the sort of loss pilots shrug off, and the involvement of multiple attacker organisations suggests Cameltoe Collective was not alone in seizing the chance. RMOC-W now has a fresh example of how quickly a high-value ship can be caught, committed on, and turned into wreckage when the attackers land first and the escape route closes behind it.
