THE CATCH
The fight in Isutaka was over almost as soon as it started. With only two participants recorded, the encounter points to a brief interception rather than a drawn-out skirmish, and the Astero appears to have been caught without room to recover. For InverseFlux, the cost was immediate: the explorer’s cruiser-class frigate was lost in a hit that stripped away a highly valuable ship and its fitted equipment in one blow.
THE TARGET
The Astero is no ordinary casualty. At a total value of 1B ISK, it stood out as an expensive and potentially well-equipped vessel, and the loss of that hull in Isutaka suggests a moment of vulnerability was enough for an unaligned attacker to close the distance and finish the job. Among the wreckage were items that underline the ship’s role: scanner probes, fireworks, and intelligence-related cargo, all of which hint at a pilot operating in dangerous space with tools for finding and surviving in it.
THE FINISH
The final blow came from an unknown attacker in a Sentry Node, a ship name that adds a hard edge to an already abrupt end. The attacker was credited with the full destruction, and the report shows the engagement settling into a clean outcome rather than a messy exchange of fire. Whatever hesitation there may have been, it did not save the Astero; the ship was overwhelmed and broken before it could escape.
THE LOSSES
The destruction total reached 308.3M ISK, while 703.8M ISK in value appears to have dropped or otherwise survived the explosion. Even so, the loss remains a costly setback for The Flux Crew and for InverseFlux personally. In a place like Isutaka, where small encounters can turn expensive in seconds, the destruction of a premium covert-ops hull is the kind of result that lingers long after the wreck is gone.
