The fight in Misaba was small, but it was not casual. Six participants were involved, and the target was a ship that thrives on slipping away before anyone can fully commit. Instead, TinaThorn’s Astero was pinned into a fight it could not win, turning a stealthy roaming hull into an expensive casualty.
THE CATCH
The attackers came from Domain Research and Mining Inst., with support also linked to Honorable Third Party. On the field, Kryptek in a Claymore and irina orlov in a Gnosis applied the pressure that mattered most. The Astero’s fittings suggest it was carrying a substantial amount of ammunition and cargo, but that only increased the sting once the trap closed.
THE BREAK
The decisive moment came when the Astero failed to escape the attention of the two attackers who did the bulk of the work. irina orlov’s Gnosis secured the final blow after 947 damage, while Kryptek’s Claymore inflicted 1,113 damage of its own. In a brief engagement, that kind of focus is usually enough to end the attempt before it can become a chase.
THE LOSSES
What remained behind was a wreck worth 1.3 billion ISK overall, with 913.6 million ISK destroyed and 351.4 million ISK recovered from the field. Among the more notable cargo losses were 786 Republic Fleet EMP M rounds and large stacks of SCC encrypted bonds, a reminder that even a single ambush can scatter expensive contents alongside the ship itself.
