THE CATCH
The engagement in OY0-2T was over almost as soon as it began, but the price was real. BorderZone fielded nine attackers against a Dracarys. presence that included a Thunderchild and at least two Apocalypse Navy Issues, and the focus quickly fell on JoanO30’s Apocalypse Navy Issue. The ship was destroyed in a fight that lasted only moments, suggesting a tight, sudden catch rather than a prolonged exchange.
THE LOSS
The destroyed battleship carried the kind of fittings that make a failed escape sting: an Imperial Navy Large EMP Smartbomb, a Large Micro Jump Drive, and faction capacitor equipment among the items noted in the wreckage. One Corpus X-Type Kinetic Armor Hardener was destroyed outright, while other modules dropped, leaving a split of 1.5 billion ISK destroyed and 1.7 billion ISK recovered from the wreck. That mix points to a ship that was still dangerous, still expensive, and still vulnerable once BorderZone had it pinned.
THE FINAL BLOW
Mufffin Johannsen’s Vedmak claimed the finishing shot, but the damage had been spread well before that. Dracarys. ships including Niusa Pava’s Thunderchild and other Apocalypse Navy Issues were applying fire in the final moments, which suggests a chaotic, close-range melee rather than a clean one-sided volley. Even so, BorderZone held the field long enough to secure the kill and convert pressure into a decisive loss for the defenders.
WHY IT MATTERS
At 3.2 billion ISK, the destruction of an Apocalypse Navy Issue is not the sort of loss a fleet shrugs off. For Dracarys., it is a reminder that even heavily fitted battleships can be exposed when caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. For BorderZone, it was a sharp, efficient prize: a valuable ship removed from the grid in a fight that appears to have rewarded timing and control over raw force.
