7.5 Billion ISK Ship Crushed in a Fast Border Skirmish

A brief but costly clash in ID 30001596 ended with two ships lost and a 7.5 billion ISK price tag, as a 13-ship attack force helped bring down a heavily fitted target worth 4.5 billion ISK. The fight lasted less than half a minute, but the damage was decisive.

THE HUNT

The engagement appears to have begun as a small, sharply focused interception rather than a broad fleet action. Seventeen pilots were present in total, with the attacker side fielding at least a 13-ship element against a smaller defending presence. In that kind of short-window fight, a valuable ship can be gone before support has time to matter.

THE CATCH

The most significant loss was ID 28659, flown by ID 2120484113 of ID 99012122 and ID 98698983. Valued at 4.5 billion ISK, the ship stood out immediately as the prize in the exchange. More than half its value appears to have been recovered as drops, but 2.2 billion ISK was still destroyed outright, leaving the loss heavy even by New Eden standards.

THE BREAK

The final blow came from ID 2124036967 flying ID 24702 for ID 99014851, though the attack was not carried by one ship alone. An unidentified attacker in an ID 208 also contributed the largest share of damage recorded on the target, suggesting the kill was the product of concentrated pressure rather than a single lucky strike. Several other attackers added their fire as the target was worn down and then finished.

THE LOSSES

A second ship also went down in the same brief engagement, pushing the total value destroyed to 7.5 billion ISK across two losses. That is enough to turn a short skirmish into an expensive reminder of how quickly exposure can be punished in space where reinforcements are measured in seconds, not minutes.

That is not a skirmish somebody stumbled into. That is a decision, made over and over, for the better part of four hours.
