A Goonswarm Federation Porpoise was caught and destroyed in Sivala in a swift, close-range strike that turned a hauling support ship into a billion-ISK loss. The attack appears to have come from Something Really Pretentious, with Iliad D'jax in a Cynabal delivering the finishing blow.

THE CATCH

The fight in Sivala was brief, but the result was expensive. Shadz of Goonswarm Federation, flying a Porpoise for Brothers of Tyr, was caught by a lone attacker from Something Really Pretentious and lost the industrial command ship in a near-instant clash. With only four participants recorded in the engagement, this was less a fleet battle than a precise interception that went straight for the vulnerable target.

THE BLOW

Iliad D'jax, flying a Cynabal for GentIeman Bastards, secured the final blow after dealing 34,267 points of damage. The Porpoise was left with a mixed outcome for its cargo: much of the load survived, but a substantial amount was destroyed alongside the hull. The ship’s total reported value reached 1B ISK, turning a small-scale encounter into a costly loss for the pilot and their organisation.

THE LOSSES

The destruction of the Porpoise left 236.8M ISK in wreckage and 784.1M ISK in dropped value. Among the cargo were large volumes of compressed ore, including Plagioclase and Veldspar variants, suggesting the ship was carrying a significant mineral load at the time it was trapped. That kind of cargo can make a support ship a tempting target, and in this case it appears to have made the kill particularly rewarding.

THE SIGNIFICANCE

For Goonswarm Federation, the loss is notable less for scale than for cost and timing. A Porpoise is meant to support operations, not become the centrepiece of one. In Sivala, however, the ship became exactly that: a high-value prize caught in a short, decisive hunt, and a reminder that even utility hulls can become expensive trophies when they are exposed at the wrong moment.
