THE CATCH
The fight in YKE4-3 was small on paper but expensive in practice. Nine pilots were involved in the engagement, and the centrepiece was a Vargur flown by tzjz of Mohist Alliance’s Mohist Army. For a ship of that class to be caught and destroyed so quickly suggests the target was isolated long enough for opponents to close in and force the issue.
THE PRESSURE BUILDS
Appetite 4 Destruction appears to have pressed the attack with support from a mixed field of ships, while damage from Bog Brotherhood also contributed heavily to the kill. Nice Gun’s Vargur and other nearby ships added sustained fire before the final strike came in from Tukuarikan’s Praxis. The sequence points to a messy but effective collapse around the target rather than a clean single-shot execution.
THE LOSS
The Vargur accounted for nearly the entire value of the fight, with 979.1 million ISK destroyed and only 32.2 million ISK recovered. Its hold also carried a substantial ammunition load, including Republic Fleet EMP L, Domination Carbonized Lead L, Domination Nuclear L, Barrage L, and Hail L — the sort of stock a heavy-hitting Marauder carries when it expects to keep fighting. Instead, it became part of the wreckage in a matter of moments.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Mohist Alliance, the loss of a Vargur is more than a line item: it is a sharp and visible setback in a single encounter. For Appetite 4 Destruction, the kill shows the value of persistence and numbers in a short-range hunt. In a system like YKE4-3, that kind of result can change the tone of the next roam long before the field has even gone cold.
