A One-Pilot Fleet
The Initiative fielded 101 pilots, with Mallers, Caracals and Ravens among its main hulls. Redux had just one pilot on the field: CrackerC, flying a Moros Navy Issue worth 8.3B ISK. On paper, it was a mismatch. Over the course of the engagement, CrackerC was credited with final blows on a succession of ships from The Initiative. A Legion, a Bifrost, and a string of Vedmaks and Cynabals all fell to the dreadnought. Spartan Industrial Manufacturing pilots in Caracals and a Drake were also among the losses, but the bulk were workhorse cruisers, Mallers above all. CrackerC's name appeared on loss after loss. Why the Moros was in D4KU-5 remains unclear.
The Dreadnought's Bill Comes Due
The Moros Navy Issue eventually cracked under a mountain of fire. Invaders33 of The Initiative landed the final blow, and 98 pilots were credited as attackers on the loss. The loss of the dreadnought was the largest of the battle, but the wider toll was also significant: combined losses reached 14.3B ISK. The Initiative suffered 42 losses, while Redux lost the single capital ship. The Initiative secured the destruction of the dreadnought.
