The Price of a Capital Ship
The Naglfar was by far the most expensive hull lost in the fighting, valued at 5.6B ISK. It came under fire from a substantial number of attackers before yaouy of Northern Coalition finished it off. Bobbit1's dreadnought was the only capital loss on a battlefield otherwise dominated by cruisers, heavy assault cruisers and stealth bombers. The Initiative absorbed most of the material damage, with the capital ship's destruction marking the high point of the cost for that alliance.
Fraternity and The Initiative Clash
The capital kill came during a larger exchange between Fraternity and The Initiative, with Northern Coalition also on the field. Fraternity brought Purifier and Hound stealth bombers alongside Sacrilege heavy assault cruisers, while The Initiative answered with Omen Navy Issues, Jackdaws and Retribution assault frigates. During the exchange, The Initiative lost an Ikitursa, a Maelstrom and an Armageddon, among other hulls, while Fraternity lost a Hound and a Purifier in return. The Initiative also lost a Noctis and a Vagabond, and a mobile cynosural inhibitor belonging to Fraternity was taken off the field.
Later Skirmishes in C-N4OD
Away from the main engagement, other groups found themselves in front of Initiative guns. Dracarys lost a flight of assault frigates and other light hulls, while Sigma Grindset traded stealth bombers and small deployables with Initiative cruisers. The Dracarys losses centered on a run of Retribution assault frigates, while Sigma Grindset lost a Manticore and a Hound as well as a pair of small warp disruptor deployables. None of those losses came close to the Naglfar's value, but they underlined that the system was a busy and dangerous place for hours after the capital loss.
