A Wall of Svipuls

The Goon formation centered on a mass of Svipul tactical destroyers, with Lokis and Onyx in support. Across from them, Weapons Of Mass Production fielded Manticore stealth bombers and Widows, joined by a single pilot from Weapons of Mass Logistics. The imbalance was stark: ninety-six Goonswarm pilots against seven opponents. No capital ships or structures were lost in the engagement.

Early Losses and a Later Burst

The battle opened with losses on both sides, including a Proteus from Weapons Of Mass Production and an Ishtar from Goonswarm Federation. A Mobile Tractor Unit also went down. The fight then saw a concentrated burst of heavier losses as a Redeemer, a Retribution, two Widows, and a Succubus were destroyed in quick succession.

The Costly Widows

The two Widow losses came almost together, and the most expensive single loss was a 2.8B ISK Widow flown by Sarah Feyer. Taiji QI of Goonswarm Federation delivered the final blow. The Widows were among the most valuable subcapital ships fielded in the engagement, and losing two of them in quick succession underscored the pressure the smaller force faced.

A Lopsided Exchange

The numerical advantage allowed Goonswarm to absorb its limited losses while the opposing alliances bore the heavier burden. For the smaller groups, losing two Widows and a Redeemer meant losing some of the most expensive hulls they had brought. The large Svipul presence on the Goonswarm side was notable, but the battle's financial weight fell squarely on the side with fewer pilots. It was a battle defined less by structure kills than by the brutal arithmetic of hull numbers and firepower.
