Diamond Dogs. Dead Even: 34 Kills, 34 Losses in J151838

The first ship to die in J151838 was a Gallente Shuttle, which is the cheapest hull in New Eden and an unpromising way to open anything at all. The last was a Bifrost. In the eighty-seven minutes between those two wrecks, 79 ships came apart, 88 pilots got pulled into the fight, and 111.8 billion ISK stopped existing - four capitals included. And the corporation that finished with the most kills also finished with the most losses. Nobody in J151838 had a tidy night.

A Shuttle, Then Four Capitals

The shuttle went first. At 01:20 UTC, Holding 418 lost a Gallente Shuttle in J151838, which on its own is about the least interesting killmail imaginable. What followed was not. By the time the last confirmed wreck - a Bifrost belonging to URSA PRIMUS - landed at 02:48, the system had produced 79 losses from 88 pilots, including four capital-class hulls and a bill of just over 111.8 billion ISK. Location matters here. J151838 sits in the F-R00030 wormhole region, where there are no stargates and no shortcuts: everything comes in and out through wormholes that open, narrow, and eventually close on their own schedule. Reinforcement is a logistics problem before it is a tactical one, and there is no undock to retreat to when a fight turns. A brawl in wormhole space is not something you politely disengage from. It is something you are in until one side runs out of ships, will, or wormhole.

One Hull, a Quarter of the Bill

The most expensive thing destroyed in J151838 was a Phoenix Navy Issue, at 26.8 billion ISK - roughly 24 percent of the entire engagement's damage, in a single hull. It is a faction dreadnought, the sort of capital a pilot commits once a fight has stopped being an argument and started being a decision. In wormhole space that decision is close to one-way: there is no convenient market next door and no easy replacement, so the hull has to be hauled through a hole or built in place. Either way, somebody worked for it. The report records the loss without saying which side it was flying for, which leaves the dreadnought readable two ways: as the moment one side forced the issue, or the moment one side discovered it had badly miscalculated. Either way, the night's arithmetic changed when it died.

Battleships Priced Like Small Fleets

The rest of the expensive end of the wreck list is a study in deliberate overspend. A Nestor at 13.7 billion. A Marshal at roughly 13 billion. A Leshak at 12.4 billion. The Nestor is a Sisters of EVE battleship, the Leshak is a Triglavian design, and the Marshal is a CONCORD hull - three ships that exist because a pilot wanted something very specific and was prepared to pay accordingly. Add the dreadnought and those four hulls come to around 66 billion ISK, close to 60 percent of everything destroyed in J151838. Seventy-nine ships died in this fight. Four of them were responsible for most of the money.

Thirty-Four Kills, Thirty-Four Losses

Diamond Dogs. top the kill list in J151838 with 34 confirmed kills. They also top the loss list, with 34 losses of their own. In count, at least, they fought the night to a standstill - a strange sort of achievement, and a very expensive one. The 418s had the worse half of it. Outfit 418 recorded 14 kills while Holding 418 lost 32 ships. Whether those two names represent one organisation's combat and holding corporations, the report does not say, but the arithmetic attached to the name is not kind. URSA PRIMUS and Shadow Legion X each claimed eight kills, and Lethal Devotion seven. Not everyone caught in J151838 was flying capital-grade hardware. Blahajideen Freedom Fighters lost four ships, Rattini Tribe lost two, and Pator Tech School lost three. That last one is the Minmatar starter corporation, which means some very cheap hulls were sitting in the same system as a faction dreadnought. It is a memorable education, and not a cheap one.

The Last Wreck Was a Bifrost

URSA PRIMUS were still in the fight at the end. Their Bifrost, destroyed at 02:48, was the last confirmed loss of the engagement - a modest close to an hour and a half that had already eaten four capitals. At the top of the damage charts for the whole fight was Maya Resurrectus, which is the part of any battle report that never makes the headline: the sustained work that turns an ambitious escalation into 111.8 billion ISK of wreckage. What J151838 leaves behind is straightforward enough. Seventy-nine ships gone in eighty-seven minutes, 88 pilots richer or poorer for it, four capital losses, and a wormhole system that will be quiet again until the next group decides the trip is worth it. Diamond Dogs. came out level - 34 kills, 34 losses - from a night spent somewhere with no way home except a hole in space.

Three Navy Phoenixes and a Naglfar Fall as Seventy-Five Pilots Contest VG-6CH

The fight in VG-6CH, Venal, was compact enough to count the capital wrecks by hand and costly enough that each one mattered. The engagement drew seventy-five pilots and left four dead dreadnoughts: three Phoenix Navy Issues and a Naglfar.
