A One-Sided Engagement
Brave Collective fielded a diverse mix of hulls, from battleships to interceptors, but the fleet was steadily ground down by Aurora. pilots. 1Nekrox and Jason Ernagas were credited with a long list of kills, moving through the engagement with surgical efficiency. Fanatic Legion and Goonswarm Federation also lost ships in the engagement, but the weight of the losses fell squarely on Brave Collective. The opposing force was compact but relentless, also using command ships and battleships.
The Barghest Goes Down
The single most expensive loss of the battle was mutalaer blade's 3.8B ISK Barghest, destroyed by 1Nekrox. The battleship was the heaviest blow in an engagement that also claimed a Golem, a Paladin, and a Vargur from Brave Collective's ranks. No other hull loss approached the Barghest in value, and its destruction underscored the toll the fight was taking on Brave Collective's heavier assets.
Aurora.'s Own Losses
Aurora. did not escape unscathed. 1Nekrox lost an Ikitursa early in the engagement, a rare setback in an otherwise dominant showing. The corporation's own losses were a small fraction of those suffered by Brave Collective, and its pilots continued to deliver final blows throughout the battle. The alliance calling itself IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII also added to the pressure, further complicating Brave Collective's situation.
A Lopsided Result
The battle in UALX-3 was a stark demonstration of how a coordinated and well-flown compact force can inflict heavy losses on a larger fleet. The wreckage lay heavily among Brave Collective vessels, while the opposing side suffered only minimal losses. For Brave Collective, the cost was measured in dozens of hulls and a string of expensive ships that will not be easily replaced.
