A Capital Falls Late
The most painful single loss for Celestial Palace was the Phoenix flown by zheng white. The dreadnought went down under a swarm of attackers, with ranko i of HOLD MY PROBS landing the final blow. At 4.1B ISK, it was the largest individual loss of the engagement and marked the only capital ship destroyed. Its fall came after a long stretch of grinding battleship exchanges, adding a sharp punctuation to an already costly day for the alliance.
The Structure Joins the Wreckage
Alongside the Phoenix, an Astrahus citadel belonging to Celestial Palace was destroyed. The structure added another layer of loss for the alliance, falling after the dreadnought had already gone dark. Though the citadel was not the most expensive item destroyed, its loss underscored the pressure Celestial Palace faced as the fighting wore on, with their battleship lines taking repeated hits and their cruisers and support ships taking repeated hits.
Contrasting Doctrines
The two sides brought sharply different doctrines. HOLD MY PROBS and Legion of xXDEATHXx fielded a core of Nightmare battleships supported by Scimitar logistics and Purifier stealth bombers. Celestial Palace answered with Typhoon Fleet Issues and Apocalypses, backed by Exequror cruisers. In the exchange, Celestial Palace lost a steady string of Apocalypses, Exequrors, and lighter hulls, while the opposing force lost fewer battleships overall. STAKAN UNIVERSE also suffered repeated Purifier losses during the fight, with Celestial Palace pilots credited for the kills.
A Grinding Exchange
The engagement was prolonged and expensive for Celestial Palace. Celestial Palace pilots lost command ships, recon ships, interceptors, and a host of cruisers and frigates in the melee, while HOLD MY PROBS and its partners absorbed losses of their own, including several Nightmares and a Raven Navy Issue. The destruction of the dreadnought and the citadel signaled the most severe moments of the fight, but the wider battle was defined by a relentless exchange of battleship fire and support losses that kept both sides fighting through the prolonged engagement.
