ChuangShi Traded 248 Ships for 25 Kills in One Afternoon

At 13:00 UTC, the first thing to die in V-3U8T was a Capsule - which almost always means somebody's ship had already stopped existing a few seconds earlier. At 16:56, the last confirmed loss was a Mobile Sanguine Harvester belonging to The Northerners: a deployable that somehow outlasted four hours of capital combat and everyone's better judgement. In between, 824 pilots put 620 ships on the killboard and set fire to roughly 168.5 billion ISK in the Querious region.

Four Hours Is a Long Time to Keep Shooting

A 236-minute engagement is not a fight that got out of hand. It is a fight somebody kept feeding. Between 13:00 and 16:56 UTC, 824 pilots cycled through V-3U8T and left 620 wrecks behind them - roughly one ship dying every twenty-three seconds, sustained for the better part of an afternoon. This was a fleet engagement in the proper sense: organised formations, sustained commitment, and enough value on the field that the total came to around 168.5 billion ISK. Nobody was passing through, nobody got bored and went home. Whatever drew this many people into one system, they stayed until the shooting ran out of targets.

248 Losses, 25 Kills, and a Very Bad Afternoon

ChuangShi lost 248 ships. ChuangShi destroyed 25. For every kill they managed, roughly ten of their own hulls stopped existing - and that ratio, more than any individual wreck, is what this battle was. It gets worse when you widen the lens. Cosmic-Wanderers lost 54 ships and recorded no kills at all. Chuangshi College lost 51 and likewise came away empty-handed - the same Chuangshi College whose Capsule opened the engagement at 13:00, before anything else in the system had started burning. Between those three names, 353 of the 620 ships destroyed in V-3U8T are accounted for. More than half the day's wreckage belongs to one side of the ledger. On the other side, Can't park there m8 posted 85 kills against 22 losses, The Northerners 76 against 40, with 0ffline Corporation and Running with Dogs adding 37 and 30 kills respectively. ChuangShi themselves appear on the kill table too, which is worth remembering: 25 kills is not nothing, and it means they were shooting back. They were simply being out-traded, badly and repeatedly, for four hours straight. Three of the five names on the kill table also sit on the loss table. The Northerners lost 40 ships. Can't park there m8 lost 22. This was not a gank with a handful of targets and no answer; it was a brawl in which one side kept winning the exchange and the other kept paying for it.

The Bill Was Paid in Battleships

The most expensive entry on the loss table is the Typhoon Fleet Issue, at just under 50 billion ISK - around 30 percent of everything destroyed in V-3U8T, from a single hull type. Behind it: 15.7 billion ISK of Machariels, 10.5 billion of standard Typhoons, and eight billion of Zarmazd. Those four types alone come to roughly 84 billion ISK, about half the day's total. Whatever doctrine was on the field, the top end of it was expensive battleship hulls with expensive things bolted to them, and a great many of those battleships are now scrap drifting through Querious. This was not a fight won by cheap frigates and clever positioning. It was a fight won by putting more tonnage on the field and then surviving the bill. Operative Frost topped the damage charts across the whole engagement - no small achievement in a system that had 824 pilots in it at various points, and a performance that presumably did not go unnoticed by either side.

Capitals Went In. Nothing Bigger Followed.

Four capital ships were destroyed in V-3U8T, along with four structures. Capital hulls do not wander into a four-hour fight by accident; someone committed them with a plan attached, and someone else showed up with enough force to remove them anyway. What did not happen is the thing that would have turned this from an expensive afternoon into a historic one. No Titans. No Supercarriers. Despite 168.5 billion ISK on the board, the largest and most valuable warships in New Eden never appeared on the loss feed at all. That is the line this battle sits on. Everything up to and including capitals came out to play, took its losses, and went home. One more escalation - one dreadnought pilot who didn't get out, one supercapital caught mid-siege - and V-3U8T would be a different kind of story entirely.

The Last Wreck Was a Deployable

After 236 minutes, 620 wrecks and a great deal of ISK, the final confirmed loss of the battle was a Mobile Sanguine Harvester belonging to The Northerners: an anchored deployable that, in the end, survived longer than four capital ships and several hundred battleships did. That is roughly the shape of the whole engagement. ChuangShi, Cosmic-Wanderers and Chuangshi College spent four hours feeding hulls into V-3U8T and came out of it with 25 kills between them to set against 353 losses. Can't park there m8 and The Northerners spent the same four hours converting other people's hangars into salvage, and still had ships left over to lose a harvester at the very end. Somewhere in Querious, a great many replacement battleships just got ordered. The wreckage in V-3U8T will be sitting there a while yet.
