Astrahus Falls in V-LEKM as Fraternity Logistics Take Heavy Losses

A Wings Freedom Astrahus was destroyed in V-LEKM during a sharp engagement, the most visible loss in a 22B ISK fight that drew more than 160 pilots. The battle pitted Weapons Of Mass Production, Sedition and Rote Kapelle against Wings Freedom, Dracarys and Fraternity, and the structure's fall came amid heavy losses to support craft, particularly the Zarmazd logistics cruisers fielded by Wings Freedom and Fraternity.

The Astrahus Falls

The Astrahus belonged to Wings Freedom. Tikerer of Weapons Of Mass Production landed the final blow on the structure, and the 2.4B ISK hull was the largest single loss of the battle. Around it, the fighting had already claimed a string of interdictors, recon ships and destroyers.

Contrasting Doctrines

On one side, the main line was formed by Weapons Of Mass Production and Sedition, who brought Barghest battleships, Scimitar logistics cruisers and Huginns. Rote Kapelle pilots were also present. On the other side, Wings Freedom and Dracarys fielded Typhoon Fleet Issues, standard Typhoons and Zarmazd logistics, while Fraternity also brought Zarmazds into the fight. The result was a heavy exchange between battleship-focused fleets and their support wings.

Logistics and Screens

The Zarmazd losses fell mostly on Fraternity, with several destroyed in quick succession. Dracarys lost a number of Hurricanes and Hurricane Fleet Issues in the fighting, while interdictors on both sides were repeatedly lost. Weapons Of Mass Production also saw a run of Kikimora destroyers and Flycatchers torn apart.

The Cost

For Wings Freedom, the loss of the Astrahus was the central wound. For Fraternity and Dracarys, the supporting hulls added to a painful tally. The fighting left wrecks scattered across the grid, from small interceptors and Kikimoras to battleships and battlecruisers. It was a bruising engagement that underscored the cost of contesting an anchored structure.
