Kalevala's Seven-System Surge Settles into a Four-System Standoff

For more than a week, the Kalevala Expanse has been a quiet but persistent battleground. What began with two contested systems has grown to a seven-system spread before narrowing to a four-system standoff, with three defending organizations holding their respective systems against unidentified attackers.

Contested systems

  • A-YB15
  • BM-VYZ
  • ND-GL4
  • QZX-L9

From Two Systems to Seven and Back

The contest opened on October 13 with two systems under contention: BM-VYZ and L-TLFU. Just hours later, the list had shrunk to a single system, BM-VYZ, before rebounding the next day with the addition of ND-GL4. By October 18, six systems were contested: AU2V-J, BM-VYZ, D-6PKO, ND-GL4, QZX-L9, and SY-0AM. The peak came on October 19, when A-YB15 joined to make seven systems. The footprint then narrowed: by early October 20, the list had fallen to four systems - A-YB15, BM-VYZ, ND-GL4, and QZX-L9 - where it remains.

Three Defending Organizations, Four Contested Systems

The campaign area spans three defending organizations. Deepwater Hooligans holds the leading front with two systems, while The Skeleton Crew and Wreckflix and chill each defend one system. The intensity on the Deepwater Hooligans front is rated Moderate; the other two fronts are rated Low. The campaign counts reflect these divisions: four active campaigns across four systems.

A Steady Score and a Cooling Momentum

The contest score shows the attackers at 40 and the defenders at 60. This 40/60 split has held steady since an early shift: the first observation on October 13 recorded an attacker score of 33 and defender score of 67, but within hours the attacker score rose to 40 and has remained there. The defender score settled at 60 and has not moved. Momentum, which had been labeled escalating through mid-October, shifted to cooling in the latest observations. The score reflects contest progress, not sovereignty: no system has changed hands, and the ihubs in all four systems remain under defender control.

Stalemate in the Kalevala Expanse: A Fluctuating Front

The Kalevala Expanse has become a study in stubbornness. For over five days, the region's defenders - Deepwater Hooligans, PUT THE FRIES IN THE BAG, and The Skeleton Crew - have maintained their hold as the contested footprint expanded and contracted. The attacker's score has not budged from 40 out of 100, a number that has remained unchanged through every observation. Four systems remain contested: 1S-SU1, A-YB15, F48K-D, and UDVW-O, all under ihub defense timers.

No Breakthrough: The Kalevala Expanse's Ten-System Standoff

Across eight observations over roughly six days, the ihub timers across the Kalevala Expanse have multiplied. What began as a four-system skirmish has widened into a ten-system defensive front, with Deepwater Hooligans, PUT THE FRIES IN THE BAG, and The Skeleton Crew facing an attack stuck at 40 out of 100 and defenders holding at 60. The result is a grinding stalemate with no system changing hands.

The Fries Remain in the Bag: A Kalevala Expanse Defense Refuses to Move

Across seven observations spanning roughly five days, the sovereignty contest in The Kalevala Expanse has been a study in immobility. The contested footprint has shifted from four systems to five and back down to two, but the attacker's contest score has never moved from 40 and the defenders have never moved from 60. No sovereignty has changed hands. The campaign has narrowed to two ihub defense timers in A-YB15 and UDVW-O, and the pressure is moderate, defensive, and thoroughly stuck.

The Fries Stay in the Bag: Stalemate Grinds On in The Kalevala Expanse

After days of observation, the contested systems in The Kalevala Expanse show no winner - only a stubborn scoreboard. Defenders Deepwater Hooligans and PUT THE FRIES IN THE BAG have held a shifting front that currently spans three systems without a single sovereignty transfer, while attacker pressure has remained parked at 40 out of 100 across every observation. The contest has moved through seven systems, yet the sovereignty needle has not twitched. It is a stalemate defined less by dramatic swings than by immobility.
