A Wider Contest
At the start of the tracking window, only BM-VYZ and L-TLFU were showing pressure. BM-VYZ has remained a constant, and ND-GL4 joined it by 14 October. Since then, the fight has spread to four more systems, bringing the regional total to six and turning what looked like a limited contest into a genuine regional campaign.
Fresh Heat on Deepwater Hooligans
While The Skeleton Crew and Wreckflix and chill have each been managing a single contested system for 53 and 38 hours respectively, the Deepwater Hooligans front is far younger. All four of their contested systems appear in a constellation campaign that is only an hour old. The four-system Deepwater Hooligans front is the newest, one hour old.
No Ground Given
Despite the widening front, no sovereignty has changed hands. The defending groups still hold the advantage in every active contest, with no sovereignty changes recorded. That is not the same as comfort; the attacker pressure has risen since the first observation, but the defenders retain the score advantage and no sovereignty has changed.
From Steady to Escalating
The first observation described the contest as steady, but later observations shifted to escalating. Attacker pressure has risen across the window, and the footprint has grown. What began as a limited contest has become a six-system regional standoff, and the contested footprint has grown overall since tracking began.
An Unresolved Expanse
For now, the Kalevala Expanse remains a set of ihub defense contests across the three defenders' space. The defenders have held so far, but the fresh Deepwater Hooligans front has no history of resolution, and the older single-system contests are still grinding on. The campaign has widened, and the pressure is not yet spent.
